There are a couple of paid plans available for BigCommerce users, as we have mentioned. The plans include its Standard plan, which goes for $29 per month. Its second plan is the Plus plan, which costs $79 per month, and its Pro plan, which costs $299 per month. 

These plans are all available at this discount when you pay annually. The price of the Enterprise plan is not displayed on the website. You need to contact the company to get a quote and the actual price.

Shopify charges a fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction and 2.7% for physical purchases. This number goes as high as 2% on any payment gateway other than the Shopify Payments system. 

There are also its robust SEO options, which are without a doubt a huge boost for your eCommerce business visibility. A lot of people are not versed in the technicalities of search engine optimization, and they might feel BigCommerce is a little complicated. 

Well, the pro of its SEO options is that you don't have to be a tech wiz to benefit from its placement, but if you are, BigCommerce allows users to better augment their SEO experience by tweaking some codes on the backend.

For those who do not know, the abandoned cart feature is a feature that stores up all the customers' last picks before checkout that they did not purchase, It then allows you to send them emails automatically to remind them of their cart. 

This is immensely helpful for both you and your customer, as they can quickly resume the buying process without any fuss. This feature is not entirely absent on BigCommerce, but unlike its competitors like Shopify and Squarespace, this feature is only available for Plus and Pro plans. 

Another major drawback is in one of its key features, its template features. BigCommerce offers awesome free templates, but when it comes to quantity, the options are quite limited. Unlike Shopify, Squarespace, or Wix, which have a lot of free templates to try out, BigCommerce doesn’t provide so many options, and making matters a little bit more disadvantageous, its paid templates cost between $150 and $400. This is quite steep for many small business owners.

Technical know-how is also a disadvantage, albeit less of a disadvantage if you’re geeky about tech stuff. BigCommerce easy-to-use features sometimes belie the complexities of some of its built-in features.
